Josh Marten - Stål Timber Design and Build

Started by Josh and Sinikka Marten in 2012, Stål Timber means metal and wood in Norwegian, and they bring the beauty of both to your project and your client’s home or commercial space.

With both woodworking and steel fabrication in house, Stål Timber specializes in bringing their client’s vision of what a project should be to a reality through collaborative design, CAD drawings for engineering and approval, and the understanding that designers are placing their trust in them to make their projects special.

    Melanie Rosenburg - MASH habitat

We are so excited to share this month’s IDS DFW May Member Spotlight: Melanie Rosenburg, Owner of MASH Habitat!

Here is a little bit more about Melanie…

"I started MASH habitat with a desire to provide a full range of design services to clients who may think they don’t necessarily have the budget that generally comes with the stigma of hiring an interior designer. Memorable, Affordable, Stylish, Harmonious...that’s what MASH stands for. It’s always been important to me to be able to show people that interior design doesn’t mean they have to start completely over or that they will need to get rid of some of the things they still love...or even the things they may not love, but just can’t replace at the moment. It makes me so sad when I hear that people have been scared away from using a designer and have ended up doing it on their own just to end up frustrated and unhappy with the end result. I commonly hear, “I have some pieces I really love, but I just can’t seem to figure out how to make everything feel finished.”

That’s where MASH habitat comes in! I love that I have been able to provide my clients with a personalized, cohesive, and planned out design process that gives them the help they need at a price point they are comfortable with.

Very early on, I discovered IDS through one of my favorite new Industry Partners, Ashlynn Bourque!! She encouraged me to attend a meeting. I was so new and intimidated, but I truly wanted to learn from and collaborate with others in the industry. Interior Design, as an independent, can be very isolating at times and I craved collaboration. It has become so much more than just a networking group. I love the welcoming community feel that our IDS chapter has and I have loved being involved with the community outreach programs, events, and the amazing monthly meetings! Everyone around me inspires me and I appreciate all of the knowledge they share! MASH habitat has grown so much over the years in so many ways, 2020 has already proved to be an unforgettable year, I can’t wait to see what the rest of 2020 brings!"

Thank you for all you do Melanie!
